Medical Thermography
Medical Thermography is an infrared technology that can be used to detect abnormal vascularity beneath the surface of the skin, due to subtle changes in heat patterns. Although not independently diagnostic, it my provide opportunity for early detection of abnormal changes and the opportunity for early referral and investigation.
It is most commonly used for breast thermography approaches, where asymmetrical breast changes can highlight the need for early specialist referral.
Breast thermography does not use ionising radiation, compression or contact, and is pain free.
