Clinical Neuropsychology
❇️ Clinical neuropsychology addresses psychological and emotional issues that have been caused by damage to a particular part of the brain through trauma, illness or developmental causes.
❇️ Such conditions of the brain or nervous system may include stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia or cerebral palsy.
❇️ Clinical neuropsychologists have specialised training in assisting patients and their families; to cope with the impact of their condition. They can assess conditions, their impact on a person’s thinking and emotions, and use interventions to treat anxiety, depression or anger arising from the underlying condition, as well as helping with adjustment to the effects of the condition.
