About
Abbie is a qualified counsellor and is experienced in working with both adults and young people with a broad range of presenting difficulties and concerns.
She has worked within both community and private practice , as well as with young people in a secondary school setting.
Abbie is a person- centred therapist, meaning that the counselling process is tailored to the individual needs of her clients , offering a safe and supportive environment that promotes growth . She also offers more specialist support for those who have experienced trauma
I provide a warm , supportive and confidential space that is free of judgement . I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is key when enabling clients to speak freely about their difficulties and concerns .
The therapy environment encourages exploration and growth , which can allow the client a better understanding and awareness of certain behaviours , relationships , responses to painful life events and ways in which they relate to certain feelings. Helping them to work towards positive changes that better fit with their sense of self and well-being .
I welcome every client with warmth and understanding , you may be wondering if counselling could be helpful for you or even what to expect at your first session, please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss any questions you may have about the counselling process or to enquire about current session availability .
