I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in Australia in 1994 and moved to the UK in 2002; I have over 25 years of experience working with adults of all ages with a range of mental health difficulties.
Whatever the problem, I work alongside each client with openness, warmth, and a respect for the ways they have found to deal with their struggles without judgement. My approach focuses on working together using our combined expertise; you are the expert on your difficulties and strengths, while my knowledge and skills will help you to increase your understanding of yourself and how you might make positive changes. Together we look at the aims and goals which are important to you to help lead a more fulfilling life.
I am experienced in providing assessment and treatment for a range of issues with adults of all ages including;
❇️ low mood, depression and grief
❇️ anxiety difficulties including worry, perfectionism, obsessive compulsive disorder and phobias
❇️ past and/or recent trauma including PTSD and Complex PTSD
❇️ Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
❇️ relationship difficulties
❇️ life transitions including mid-life, menopause/perimenopause, retirement and later life
❇️ dealing with health issues including chronic pain, illness, disability
❇️ adjustment to cognitive changes brought on by neurological conditions such as dementia and stroke
I have undergone specialist training in a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. I access regular supervision and further training to ensure my practice remains effective, ethical, and up to date. I hold full professional indemnity insurance.
